Create your unique event with Squamish and Lil'wat people greeters, traditional song, dance, drumming, craft demonstrations, or interactive learning experiences.

Great Hall and Deck (main level)
The Great Hall houses the traditional artifacts and displays of the Cultural Centre.

  • 22 foot high ceilings and a curved 220 foot glass plank wall reveal spectacular mountain and forest views
  • Features a series of carved cedar canoes, which are lifted up to the ceiling during special events
  • Creation stories, oral history, and modern culture of the Squamish and Lil’wat people are shown in film in the 80-seated tiered multi-media theatre. This theatre can also be used for any customized presentation or special messaging
  • The floor of the Great Hall reflects the textures of the natural world

Istken Hall and Patio (ground level)

  • Inspired by the traditional Lil’wat Istken (earthen pit dwelling), this contemporary architectural interpretation features 9 glass sides, all offering spectacular views of the surrounding forest and mountains
  • Eleven fir pillars, from the floor to the peak of the 15 foot ceiling, create a special circle in the centre of the room and add warmth and texture to this unique space
  • An adjacent outdoor patio provides a space to take in fresh air and mountain vistas. It also offers an ideal setting for meals and coffee breaks
  • Available for special functions all day and evening

Mezzanine Deck (mezzanine level)

  • The 220 foot deck, the largest in Whistler, floats into the forest and allows guests a view of Whistler and Blackcomb mountains
  • A fire pit located in the centre of the deck provides a wonderful ambiance for after-dinner drinks and storytelling - a great location to start or end a sit-down dinner in the Great Hall
