CELEBRATE THE WORK OF CHARLIE MACK AND THE MANY LEGACIES OF LIL'WAT ARTISTS
On Friday, March 19th the Lil'wat Nation will celebrate the return of Charlie Mack's Canoe and will honour the work of its many carvers, artists and performers at a special reception at the Squamish Lil'wat Cultural Centre.

The celebration will focus not only on the works of Charlie Mack but also on a recent donation from the McEwen family of many Lil'wat baskets and tools. This donation will greatly enhance programming and exhibitions at the Squamish Lil'wat Cultural Centre.

Throughout the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Lil'wat Nation has had an opportunity to showcase it's unique Interior Salish art. From baskets, drums and regalia to carved welcome figures, doors and canoes the Lil'wat art forms are flourishing.

This public event provides the opportunity to celebrate Interior Salish art and meet many of the Lil'wat artists who are carrying our traditions forward.

We invite you to join us on Friday, March 19th starting at 2:00pm to honour Charlie Mack, Lil’wat artists and learn more about our culture at the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre in Whistler, British Columbia.
