Meet Brady Smith / New SLCC Executive Director

The Squamish and Lil’wat Cultural Centre is thrilled to extend a warm welcome to Brady Smith as the new Executive Director. He has already won the hearts of the SLCC team with his contagious enthusiasm and love for the community.

“I am truly humbled and excited to be selected as the new Executive Director of the Centre”, says Brady. “The Centre has become an incredible and respected organization within the resort community and I look forward to working with our team, our Board of Directors, and community members from each of the Nations to further strengthen our reputation as a world class Cultural Centre in the heart of the Squamish and Lil’wat traditional territories”.

A man that is no stranger to working hard Brady started his career in Whistler’s hospitality industry over ten years ago. Through his strong work ethic and dedication he has worked his way through many roles starting at front of house operations manager to sales and eventually marketing director. He has been described as a well-rounded team member with endless potential.

When the Olympics came to town Brady was part of the Organizing Committee team. Along with his team, Brady took on the task of securing 4,500 beds in Whistler for the Olympic and Paralympics games. A successful venture that required copious organization and attention to detail.

Since the Olympics, he has been working with the Whistler Sport Legacies leading business development alongside their existing executive team. Here he created and executed key sales and marketing initiatives, generated profitable business opportunities and built critical partnerships – one of them being with the SLCC. He was dedicated to the growth of WSL and loved his time there.

Needless to say, over the last few years Brady has been busy creating a vast and impressive resume for himself working for companies and organizations that make up the Whistler community. This multitasker extraordinaire also runs his own property management business here in Whistler.

Currently Brady sits on the Whistler Events Working committee, which is responsible for reviewing community events and opportunities to “ensure support being provided to existing events is consistent, streamlined and integrated between the various Partners.” – Tourism Whistler Website

On a personal note, he is a father and an avid outdoorsman. He loves to enjoy the beautiful place in which he lives and the community here in Whistler. He wants to share the beauty for years to come with his family, those that live here and those that visit Whistler.

Brady’s is passionate about the Sea-to-Sky corridor, First Nations culture and history, and helping people develop to their fullest potential. His entrepreneurial spirit, passion for excellence and infectious positive energy makes Brady ideal for the role of Executive Director. The SLCC is look forward to great things under his leadership.
