  5. Regular Hours of Operations are Tuesday – Sunday (Closed Monday). Occasionally we close early for private events, plan your visit by checking the early closure notices above.
  6. Membership gives you free admission for a year and half price for your guests. Get 20% savings on Gift Shop purchases (excluding books and consignment inventory) and 15% savings on Thunderbird Cafe purchases, plus invites to exclusive Member Events.

Hourly Guided Tour

Join an hourly guided tour on the hour from 10am – 4pm*, included with Museum Admission. Experience a hand drum welcome song, inspiring short film and guided tour by Cultural Ambassadors of the Squamish Nation and Lil’wat Nation.

What We Treasure

Hourly from 10am – 5pm*, last tour starting at 4pm*

Experience the SLCC’s signature tour featuring artifacts, songs, and stories shared by Cultural Ambassadors. Learn about the Squamish and Lil’wat Peoples’ past and present way of life.

*Replaced by feature tours, and check upcoming early closures.

Legends of the Land

11am

This summer, experience storytelling unique to the Legends of the Land Exhibit in Gallery 2 including the Owl and the Wild Women of the Woods.

Interpretive Forest Walk

3pm

Walk through the forest with Cultural Ambassadors and discover the plants, land, and stories that shape Indigenous knowledge. A guided experience in nature rooted in Squamish and Lil’wat traditions.

Offered seasonally from May through September.

Featured Exhibits

Woven Pathways: Fashion and Cultural Continuity
Date: October 18, 2025 - April 5, 2026
Connected through waters and shared territory, this exhibit features Squamish and Lil̓wat fashion and accessory designers with guest artists from the Northwest Coast. Through contemporary expression, Indigenous designers represent their identities rooted in lineage, land, and culture, shaping the future of fashion.

The What We Treasure Exhibit is the SLCC’s permanent exhibit and collection throughout the Great Hall and Gallery One, and features newly revitalized interpretive content. The What We Treasure collection features original cultural belongings, including baskets, blankets, carvings (such as canoes, spindle whorls, welcome figures, house posts, and story poles), as well as drums, tools, and regalia (traditional clothing).

Thunderbird Café

Fuel your visit with Indigenous-inspired flavours at the Thunderbird Café.
Located inside the SLCC, our cafe is open to all—no admission required. Enjoy fresh, locally sourced meals, traditional bannock, and house-made treats in a relaxed setting with mountain views.

Gift Shop

Discover authentic Indigenous art, jewelry, and gifts at the SLCC Gift Shop.
Our on-site store is open to everyone—no museum admission required. Explore handcrafted items by local Indigenous artists and take home a meaningful piece of Squamish and Lil’wat culture, in person or online.

Wheelchair Accessibility

Our Cultural Centre is wheelchair accessible and we have wheelchairs onsite available for guests to use. Please contact the SLCC prior to your visit or ask for the chair at our admissions desk upon arrival.

Exhibit maps are available in French, Chinese, Dutch, German, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish. Request your copy at the admissions desk upon check in.

Location

The Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre is located in Whistler, British Columbia, at 4584 Blackcomb Way in Whistler’s Upper Village.

Directions

From Vancouver: take Highway 99 (Sea to Sky) north to Whistler. In approx. 100 kms, turn right off Hwy 99 at Lorimer Road into Whistler Village. The SLCC is located at the corner of Lorimer Road and Blackcomb Way, across from Lost Lake Park in Whistler’s Upper Village (approximate driving time: 2 hours).

Parking

Limited parking is available onsite; additional parking is available along Blackcomb Way (2 hours max street parking) and in the Day Lots on Lorimer Road.
