21 Oct SLCC and Moody Dan recognized as winners at the Whistler Excellence Awards 2022

On Thursday, October 20, the SLCC celebrated two great wins and recognition at the Whistler Excellence Awards hosted by the Whistler Chamber of Commerce.

Moody Dan (Lil’wat Nation) was recognized for winning the Rising Star of the Year Award. Presented by the Hotel Association of Whistler the Award recognized Moody’s outstanding performance in leading the team as Manager of Operations, making an impact beyond his years.

The SLCC and community raise our hands to Moody for this well-deserved recognition for his passion and commitment to his work with the SLCC family, Lil’wat7ul, and the greater community.

The entire SLCC family celebrated a win for Service Excellence – Large Business. Presented by Whistler Blackcomb the Award recognized the entire team who constantly deliver industry-leading service excellence and make an impact on the Whistler guest experience. From sharing authentic and meaningful Indigenous experiences to hosting impactful events in the SLCC’s stunning venue, the team is recognized for exceptional customer service and consistently exceeding customers’ expectations.

The SLCC raise our hands to all SLCC Ambassadors and family for their dedication, pride and energy they bring to sharing the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh and Lí’wat7úl experience with the world.

As the heart of the Arts and Culture community in Whistler – a Finalist for the Whistler Champion of Arts & Culture and a win for Service Excellence – Large Business shows that the SLCC is a well-respected essential service for sharing living culture, and creating meaningful connections with the Squamish Nation and the Lil’wat Nation and is a powerful Indigenous business leader in the community.

The SLCC shares a hearty congratulations to all the finalists and winners for all you do in the community. We raise our hands to Whistler Chamber of Commerce for honouring Whistler’s innovators, trailblazers and community cultivators. It was a beautiful evening honouring excellence in service, innovation, sustainability, outstanding leadership in the arts, business and community service. The Whistler Excellence Awards were hosted by the Whistler Chamber in partnership with Whistler Community Foundation, the Whistler Arts Council, AWARE and presented by BlueShore Financial.
