Rituals: Sacred Bundles Workshops

The land, our Mother, provides for us.  We have collaborated with our Mother since the beginning of our time, she has provided what we need, and we have taken care of her.  I will talk about my teachings about using traditional herbal scents for changing the energy of your space.

 Chief George was named on the Presidents Honour List, and graduated with Honours from the Institute of American Indian Arts, Santa Fe, NM. Studied 3 D Art, Museum Studies and studied and graduated, Textile Arts, Capilano University.

 Co-Curator and Co-Designer of the Squamish and Lil’wat Cultural Centre, Whistler BC

Dreamcatcher Award, 2010 for outstanding contribution to her community in the area of Arts and Culture, a National Award. Since the age of 18, her formal and informal job has been to interview, record, and learn from the Squamish Nation Elders, her most honoured teachings.

Workshop one: Rituals, Clearing your Environment
Date: Saturday January 16, 2016 10:00am – 11:00am
Location: Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre in Whistler, BC
Cost: $50
Using the philosophy and teachings of our sacred plants and using modern ingredients to change energy and clean your environment. I will tell you about each scent, and the purpose of the plant used to make it.  You will make beautiful air freshener and an anti-bacterial all-purpose cleanser for your space, using ingredients that are eco-friendly and the protective ones provided by Mother Earth.

Workshop two: Rituals, Soothing your skin
Date: Saturday January 16, 2016 1:00pm – 2:30pm
Location: Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre in Whistler, BC
Cost: $60
We will use and discuss the use of traditional herbs and plants.  You will create a soothing skin salve and we will also make lip balm using nutritive plants and natural ingredients.   We use a heating element in this workshop, age appropriate recommended.
